    Announcements for Wednesday, Sept. 27!

9/25-10/4: The AAJHS Library is hosting its monthly Lego Club meeting on Wednesday, October 4th from 2:45 to 3:30 in the library.  Please be sure to have transportation here by 3:30.  If you would like to attend, you need to sign up in the library before Oct. 4th.  Remember, there are only 24 students accepted into Lego Club each month.  But if you can’t make it this month, you can sign up for the November meeting.  If you have any questions, see Mrs. McCaulley in the library.

9/27 &9/28: Book Club members are reminded of our next meeting this Thursday, September 28 from 2:45 to 3:30.  Don’t forget to have a ride ready to pick you up at 3:30.  Anyone still wanting to join Book Club is welcome to join us in Mrs. Loucks’ office – room 434 on the 4th floor – Thursday September 28 from 2:45-3:30.  See you all then!

9/27/23: If you use the Fitness Room after school, this announcement is for you: If you get picked up for a ride home after you are finished in the fitness room,  you may not leave the fitness room until your ride is here to take you home.  There are too many students leaving the fitness room and then hanging out outside the school for an extended period of time.  If you WALK home, you must head home immediately after leaving the fitness room.  You may NOT hang out on school property for an extended period of time after leaving the fitness room.  If you have any questions please see Mrs. Helsel or Mr. McDowell.  Thank you.

9/27/23: The boys and girls Jr. High cross-country team traveled to Kiski Area on Tuesday afternoon.

The girls came away with a hard fought victory. They were led by Emma Etter, Lucy Nagle and Evie Broadrick. The boys fell to Kiski Area. The boys were led by Ben McKee, Lucas Morrisey and Evan Getty.

    Great job runners.

9/27/23: On 9/25, the AAJHS Boys Soccer team suffered a tough loss to the Hollidaysburg Tigers by a score of 4-1. The Altoona goal was scored by Carson Crawford.

On 9/26, the AAJHS Boys Soccer team took another loss to Mt. Nittany middle school by a score of 4-0. AAJHS played a strong match to Mt. Nittany’s students.

The AAJHS boys are now 3-7 and play their next game on Monday, October 2nd, at home against Cambria Heights.

9-27:  Attention students:  What can go up and come down without moving?  If you like puzzles and riddles and the 24 game, come to our Mathcounts meeting Wednesday after school from 2:45 until 3:30.  Please see Mrs. Abbott in C275 for details or email.  (Answer:  the temperature)

9/27-9/29:  Students:  Did you know it is the middle of the first marking period?  That means you have four weeks until report cards go home.  Do you have missing assignments?  Are you close to the next higher letter grade?  If so, get busy!

Remember, students with an average of 90% or better earn the Honor Roll distinction. Make an academic achievement goal for this year and work towards that goal every day!
