Recently, “The Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,” was released on Nov. 17, 2023 and has blown us away with the amazing actors and crucial special effects presented in the motion picture film. The movie is about two hours and 38 minutes long, it is rated PG-13 and it is directed by Francis Lawrence.
This movie is also a book that is written by Suzanne Collins, which gives a lot of detail! Some might argue that it has more detail than in the movie, as movies can’t explain what is happening with words. They both come along with an obsessive need to keep watching or reading to find out what will happen!
In the movie, actors Rachel Zegler, Tom Blyth and Josh Andre’s Rivera played very important parts as key characters. Zegler plays as a girl from District 12 with the name of Lucy Gray Baird who is chosen to fight in the Hunger Games arena for her own life. All the while having a tremendous mentor who is Blyth, playing as Coriolanus Snow. He more than helps Lucy in the games, so she survives through the gruesome days and nights fighting for her district.
Rivera is also a major character who is Snow’s friend, more of a brother, and he also serves as a mentor and used to live in one of the districts himself. He is more of a rebel in fighting the capital, even though he lives there. They will become more connected later on in the film. Does Lucy Gray Baird win? And what happens to Snow? Watch the movie, or read the book, to find out!
These actors are also in many different films that you should consider watching, such as Zegler from “Shazam!: Fury of the Gods” and “West Side Story.” Tom Blyth played in “Benediction,” “Scott and Sid,” and also in “Robin Hood.” Lastly, we have Josh Rivera featured in “Cat Person,” and with Zegler in “West Side Story.”
Rivera and Zegler have worked together before, and it has clearly paid off because their acting skills are very experienced and mature. This is clearly not their first time!
I rate this movie a perfect 5/5! It was the most amazing experience to sit in the cozy movie theater chairs, and let the booming sounds vibrate the floor while being absorbed in the plot line that the fictional characters were facing. I would change nothing about this movie, and recommend it to anyone who is interested!

I haven’t read the hunger games books or seen the movies. Maybe I should! My brother and mom saw this movie and they said it was awesome.
