    Announcements for Monday, Feb. 12!

Just a reminder: Students are permitted to bring unopened drinks for breakfast or lunch. However, the container must be sealed until you go to breakfast or lunch and once the container is open it must be disposed of before you leave the cafeteria. Students should not be having open drinks in their lockers and drinking them throughout the day.

Attention any 7th and 8th grader interested in joining the Track and Field team. There will be an informational meeting for parents and students at 6 pm in the Junior High auditorium on Tuesday February 13th. If you are planning to attend, please enter the Junior High at the Library entrance on 7th Avenue. If you have any questions, please email Coach Shultz.

The 7th grade Altoona white team defeated state college park forest by a score of 36 to 29. The team fought hard and battled back from a deficit to win the game. Layton Johnson led all scorers with 17. The boys will be at home again today after school to take on central mountain. Hope to see there!

“The Altoona White 8th Grade Boys Basketball team won against undefeated Park Forest at home last Friday afternoon by a score of 34-28.  The team played strong together for all 4 quarters on both the offensive and defensive end in order to secure the hard fought victory.  Carson Crawford led all scorers with 10 points along with Mekhi Jackson scoring 6 points, Kayden Gergely and Brayden Pike scoring 5 points each, and Hunter Kling as well as Cohen Cochran contributing 4 points each in the win.  Their next game is today after school as they take on Central Mountain.  Great job boys!”

Attention students:  Here is a question: Erik can set up and burn a CD on his computer in 3.5 minutes.  How long will it take him to burn 20 CDs?  Everyone is welcome to come to our Mathcounts meeting Wednesday after school. Please see Mrs. Abbott in C275 for details or email.
