Farewell! Jim O’Donnell poses for the last at his desk he won’t be sitting at next year. He loved to teach students from his advanced perspective of an elder.

Saying goodbye, eighth grade English teacher Jim O’Donnell will be exiting the building for the last time on May 30, 2024, the last day of school.

O’Donnell has always enjoyed interacting with students and organizing his day. He has been working in this particular district for 30 years including time spent teaching at D.S. Keith Junior High School.

“It always seemed like a good opportunity to live a life of service to others while imparting some knowledge from the perspective of an older person,” said O’Donnell after being asked what got him into teaching.

Since O’Donnell has a very strict and organized day, he looks forward to not having to worry about it in the future. Also, he enjoys building furniture and will have a lot of extra time to work in his shop.
