                                                                                      -Mahatma Gandhi

This week’s quote is in honor of Mahatma Gandhi, who was assassinated Jan. 30, 1948 at the age of 78.  Gandhi is known around the world for his philosophy of nonviolent resistance. Gandhi was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1937, 1938, 1939 and in 1947, but never won the prize. Another thing that many may not have known about Mahatma Gandhi is that he was a very shy child. This may be surprising to you considering that he led millions of followers.

This quote means that if everybody were to seek revenge then the entire world would be fighting and there would be no peace. It is important to find forgiveness. When people carry the burden of hatred, they are only weigh themselves down. Learn to forget and forgive so that some peace can be created.
