-News on the hottest gaming trends

Since its release in 1999, Super Smash Bros has been one of Nintendo’s key franchises to help boost hardware and software sales. As many know, Nintendo has announced a new Smash Bros title coming to Wii U and 3DS. Though this title may not hold up to be the greatest, Nintendo is experimenting new ways with the series. Despite being highly acclaimed and having huge support bases, gamers have criticized the series for having immature stages and a fighter feeling more like a platformer. Many stages appearing in the new title(s) feature different stages themed more like those of intense fighting stages from games like Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat.

Another big leap is that Super Smash Bros 3D* will be the first ever handheld version of the game. Before this year, the game has appeared on the Nintendo 64, Nintendo GameCube and Wii. All of those have been home consoles that required a TV. Though it is their first time experimenting with this, it is sure to be a blast on the 3DS. Another change is that the Wii U version will be released months after the 3DS version. The idea there could either be a saving gift or backfire terribly. It will probably do a bit of both. The 3DS version will help by building hype and getting the Smash Bros name known better but will be bad because it may make people cross the confusion line for Super Smash Bros on Wii U. Hopefully it pays off but Nintendo is playing some risky cards by doing this.

Either way, this title is sure to bring up the sales of both 3DS and Wii U and provide wonderful sales itself. With a very good online and huge roster there should be no reason to pass this title up.

I really want this though I highly doubt it will save Wii U. It will be a helpful title though.

I’m really excited for this game. I will be getting the 3DS version because I have not been inspired to get a Wii U.
