The most common household pet for children: goldfish betas  also koi and angelfish. But what about a Piranha? Dylan Shaffer owned a Piranha named Chubs.

“We had two, but Chubs ate the other one,” Shaffer said.

Where in the world did he get them?

“My dad brought them home from Holidaysburg one day. He just thought it would be cool,” Shaffer said.

Their diets require three yummy foods: other fish, frogs and rats. They are also messy so they require being cleaned out on a weekly basis. There are also certain temperatures the water has to be at so it won’t freeze the fish or overheat him. Filters are always a good idea to make sure the water doesn’t become toxic. The piranhas only should be fed once a day so their water won’t be overly messy. In order to have a mentally stable piranha, it should have many hiding places in its tank like rocks, caves, etc.

“They lived for seven years,” Shaffer said.

That is good considering they can live anywhere between 4-15 years.

Good luck convincing your parents to buy you one of those.
