Firestarter is a pop punk band that originated in Albany, NY. The band started in Dec. 2012. The members are Matt LaPerche on lead vocals and guitar, Jeff Henlin on bass, Tyler McMullen on guitar and Matt Bliss on drums.

In 2013, they had a split released with Old Again band, Rooftop Acoustic Songs EP, and New Beginnings EP. Just this year they released their first full length, Forget The Past. The band is signed with Darth Fader Records and can also find their music on Bandcamp.

Firestarter had played in Altoona early May of this year. They have done two tours with Post Season band of Altoona. They have yet to return to our little town but hopefully soon. While performing in Altoona, I myself did attend this show and I must say it was one of the best shows I have seen. The band does great performances and it’s obvious to tell they love what they do. I own all of their released music and their music is easy to relate to.

“So this is me with my heart out on my sleeve for all of you to see Not in it for the fortune or the fame, but for the feeling that starts inside.” Lyrics saying they don’t write their music to become popular they write for themselves and those worth listening.
