Davi Millsaps
With the opening of the 2013 supercross season, Millsaps was ready for Anaheim 1, on Jan. 5. He made it to the main event without having to go to the LCQ round. When he was on the gate, between Justin Barcia and Ryan Dungey, his nerves had to be rising. As the 30-second board went up by Ms. Supercross, the boys pulled their clutches in. They were off!
Millsaps got the hole shot. Trey Conard and Justin Barcia were following close behind. Millsaps kept the lead for the first 16 laps, then on the 17th, Canard took the lead. On the 19th lap, Millsaps took his rightful place out in front. He crossed the finish line by only 2.2 seconds in front of Canard, who finished second. Everyone, even I was surprised by him winning since he hasn’t taken the top podium spot since 2010. Also adding all of his injuries, makes it harder to keep the stamina it takes to lead a race.
