The song is a father telling a son the story behind him and his mother. Their love story is told to their young son. During the song, the girl tells the boy she is dying. Everything is good for them in the beginning then it goes downhill from there. He’s trying to tell his son to not fall in love either. This song is sad, but it tells a story and that is what songs are supposed to do.
