Christmas Playlist
Music is the greatest thing since Saint West.
Christmas is just around the corner, and who doesn’t enjoy holiday music? Parents will force their kids to listen to the outdated, untrendy music they listened to growing. Who enjoys listening to that stuff? Well everyone needs a holly, jolly Christmas playlist.
As always, Mariah Carey is a great go-to gal. Her songs add a twist of modern day music with the usual classics. Merry Christmas originally hit the charts in 1994, but it is still one of people’s favorites. Songs on this album include “All I Want for Christmas is You”, “Joy to the World” and “Silent Night’. Of course everyone has heard “Joy to the World” and “Silent Night”, but Mariah definitely adds her own twist to these songs, making use of her extremely high voice. For those out there who are not Mariah Carey fans (but who isn’t), there are some great covers on Youtube of these songs.
Another playlist favorite is Michael Bublé. Unlike Mariah, he keeps to the more traditional side of Christmas carols, but still adds flavor to them. Released in 2011, Christmas includes Michael’s versions of “The Christmas Song”, “Santa Baby” and “It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas.” Bublé doesn’t only have a hit Christmas album but also has several other everyday music titles that are just as good.
For those more into classic Christmas music, check out Trans Siberian Orchestra. They add a twist of rock and heavy metal to the beloved “Carol of the Bells”, “Oh Come All Ye Faithful”, and many more. Check out Youtube videos as well; performances and concerts add on to the amazing music.
There are definitely more artists and albums than these three. Don’t be afraid to look up newer music or even add a Christmas station on Pandora or Itunes radio. So turn off that tasteless music that seems like it’s from the 1900’s and indulge in some modern, fun Christmas songs which everyone will love.
