With only one race leading into the finale, Justin Barcia fights to the finish. Every race I watch, I always hope that Barcia has the perfect performance. He is so humble and great to his fans which is why I consider him my favorite rider to watch. This win is his second win of the season. Since he is the “amature” of the 450 class, he has done more than most people would have thought he was capable of.
In the main event Barcia took the hole shot. Barcia has not had a performance like this since his first win of the season in Phoenix, AZ. Being in his hometown, Ryan Villopoto did not take the win like all supercross fans thought he would. After taking off from the gate, Villopoto was not in a podium spot. Not for long though. Soon enough he was right behind Barcia with only tenths of a second separating the two. Davi Millsaps was falling behind in third.
As the race continued, Barcia was still out in front with no fear of losing his spot. Both Barcia and Villopoto started passing lapped riders, which helped Barcia but hurt Villopoto. The kawasaki rider was soon losing sight of Barcia.
The riders only have one more race in Salt Lake City, UT on April 27. After that, its time for the riders to return to Sin City.
