When I was a little girl, I loved to play princess and pretend I lived in a castle.

Over the Christmas break, I googled castles to visit and I got so many castles. I never knew there were that many castles all over the world. Only a few really made me think, “wow what a beautiful castle!” For, example there’s Neuschwanstein Castle, The Swallow’s Nest, Castle Frankenstein and Prague Castle.

My  favorite castle I researched was Prague Castle. This is known to be the largest castle According to the Guinness Book of World Records, with an area of almost 70,000 m². This castle was most likely built the back in the ninth century. Many people travel there to see big walls and  historical features of the castle.

I won’t bore you with the history of the castle but I will tell you what I found interesting about it.The castle is actually a complex of buildings. It started out as one building then they just started adding on to it; it took about 700 years to complete. This castle has six gardens. The Summer Palace was built by Emperor Ferdinand for his wife, Anne Jagiello. Many people consider it to be the “most beautiful building north of the Alps.” I used this website if you want to read more about the castle http://www.my-prague-sights.com/prague-castle.html

The castle has tours, a long tour and then a short tour. It’s best to get the short tour because its not only cheaper but it is plenty for you to take it. The castle grounds are free and so are the gardens. You can visit them without any problem. When I go there I hope to tour the castle with the short tour.
