This week at Blue Knob they held ski races so the terrain park was closed, but other that that the conditions were good 23 out of 34 trails were open. The trail Deer Run was closed because of ski races. There was a log setup for people to grind on at the end of the trail Jack Rabbit. Unfortunately the chances of ski club being canceled are high this week. The reason for the cancellation will probably be the lack of snow, high temperatures and rain. If there is ski club the Blue Knob will probably be really icy.

And the wind we have been having in Altoona is terrible, I can only imagine what the wind would be like up there. Sometimes the wind gets so bad it rocks the ski lift chairs back and forth. But you can check trail map and conditions at http://www.blueknob.com/index.php/mountain/trail-map. The surface of Blue Knob on Tuesday was groomed hard pack and there is a 30% chance of snow. The weather today is rain with a chance of snow shower with a high of 41 and a low of 28. But this weekend we are to get some snow so blue knob’s conditions should be great this weekend.
