Many kids have been meeting up lately with John King in Wanda Pletcher’s room and getting ready to create artwork for literature magazines.

According to King, iart adviser of the group, this is the fourth year that they have been doing literary magazine.

“We’re currently fundraising for magazines,” King said. “ We’re also fundraising for a trip to New York.”

“I’m proud of the students and the work I get from them,” King said, “ The artwork is outstanding.”

“We meet once every other week,” King added.

Richard Ecker has joined this after school activity because it’s a nice way to pass time.  Once they get things started and pick a theme, he feels like he’s going to have a lot of fun.  A theme contributes to the kind of poetry that goes with it.

According to Ecker, he’s  definitely going to contribute to this group because he’s going to bring a lot of creativity by being a creative person and doing a lot of thinking.

“ I joined it because it’s fun to do art and read stuff,” Ecker said. “ It would be fun to pass time doing two things that I like to do.”

Another member of the group, Sarah Dwyer, joined so she could meet new people and so she can get better at writing and drawing.  According to Sarah, she will benefit because of her good writing ability.

“ Nice and able to talk to us,” Dwyer said about her instructor, King.

“I would recommend this group if they liked to write but I wouldn’t if they didn’t like to be around people or if they weren’t committed,” Dwyer said. “You have to be committed in this group.”
