    Announcements for Thursday, April 11!

    Attention Students:  The library has over 180 overdue books and will be mailing overdue notices home to parents for the first, second, and third marking periods on Friday, April 12th.  If you have an overdue book, please return or renew it as soon as possible.  Any lost library books will become a fine on your skyward account at the end of the year.

     Listen up Think Lab participants – there is a change to the schedule this month! We will NOT meet this week – we will meet NEXT Wednesday, April 17th. Remember, Think Lab will meet NEXT Wednesday, April 17th. Join Ms. Gardner and Miss Astle in Room C258 on April 17th – after school until 3:30. We will use materials to solve creative STEM problems like building the tallest tower out of pasta noodles and folding the farthest flying paper airplane. This month we’ll be exploring Ooblek. All students are welcome and encouraged to check it out. Be sure you schedule your ride to pick you up at 3:30 if you plan to stay! See Ms. Gardner in Room C258 with any questions!

     The Maroon baseball team was victorious yesterday in both games of a double header on the road in Bedford.  In game 1, the Lions battled back from down 2-0 to corral the Bisons by a score of 5-2 in 6 innings.  Cohen Cochran pitched 4 solid innings to give the boys a chance to tie it up, then Brayden Pike came in to slam the door for the win.  Vince Nedimyer had 2 huge hits to lead the offense, and Josh Starr and Owen Hileman drove in runs in the win. In game 2, Braiden Touchton and Nedimyer combined on a 1 hitter and Wes Zitsch had a pair of hits and RBI’s in a 5-1 win.  Great wins boys!

     The Altoona White Baseball team split their double header with Bald Eagle yesterday. The B team picked up a 4-2 victory. Alec Woodring struck out 8 batters while only giving up 2 hits. Thomas Kessinger and Lucas Morrissey each had 2 hits for the Lions. The team travels to Bellwood for a double header on Saturday – starting at 11am.

    The Boys Track and Field team lost to State College yesterday by a score of 83.5 to 66.5.
