    Announcements for Thursday, March 7!

    The Altoona Area Junior High School Drama Club is proud to present Shrek the Musical, Jr. Public performances are scheduled for 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 7th and Friday March 8th with a matinee show at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 9th, 2024.  All performances will take place in the Altoona Area Junior High School Auditorium.

    General admission tickets will only be on sale at the door and will cost $8 for adults and $5 for students. Doors open approximately 1/2 hour before each show.

    We hope to see you there!

    Attention any 7th or 8th grader interested in joining Track and Field. The deadline for joining the team is extended.  The new date is Wed 3/13.  Please contact Coach Shultz for more information.

    It’s time again for hands-on STEM experiments! Join Ms. Gardner and Miss Astle in Room C258 after school the second Wednesday of every month – including this upcoming Wednesday March 13 – after school until 3:30. We will use materials to solve creative STEM problems like building the tallest tower out of pasta noodles and folding the farthest flying paper airplane. This month we’ll be exploring slime. All students are welcome and encouraged to check it out. Be sure you schedule your ride to pick you up at 3:30 if you plan to stay! See Ms. Gardner in Room C258 with any questions!

    REMINDER: Any Students staying for after school activities should leave at the walker bell.  You should not be arriving to the activity before 2:40.

    Attention all junior high faculty, staff, and students:

    Next week is your lucky week! Send a friend some luck or tell a friend how lucky you are to have them in your life! Do this by sending your friends a “St. Patrick’s Day Hershey Bar Lucky Gram!” For $2 you can send a full size Hershey chocolate bar to a friend during 1st period on Friday, March 15th. Send one, send a few, or even send one to yourself! You can purchase your Lucky Grams Monday through Thursday next week, March 11-14 out of 4th period. You MUST KNOW your friends’ 1st period class room number before you buy! Don’t forget your money next week and listen to upcoming announcements that will give you details of when to purchase your Lucky Grams!

    The nurse’s office will be closed today due to 7th grade dental exams.  Only students who receive daily medications or true emergencies are permitted.
