Come On Altoona! The Altoona Jr high cheer squad rallied the crowd at the assembly on Friday. The cheer leaders performed at the beginning, during, and at the end of the assembly.

On Feb. 3 the ninth grade gathered in the auditorium to recognize the ninth grade athletes in winter sports. The many sports teams included swim team, boys’ indoor track, girls’ indoor track, wrestling, basketball, gymnastics and indoor silks. Members of each team were first recognized then competed in an obstacle course. The wrestling team had the fastest time and won the course.
Put it on! Eve Ergler competed along with other members of the boys’ and girls’ swim team in the obstacle course. Swimming serves as an upper body exercise as it exercises the deltoids, triceps and biceps.
Speed up! Ninth graders Katie Aveni, Margret Fox and Addi Burchfield stood up for recognition for being on the ninth grade indoor track team. The ninth grade indoor track team didn’t go to many meets, but they did well and trained hard.
Go Liam! Ninth grader Liam Clyma was recognized for his participation on the boys’ indoor track team. The boys did not participate in many meets but they practiced hard.

Hit it! The band performed at the beginning of the ninth grade winter sports assembly. The band performs at most of the school activities and assemblies.
