Hi! I’m Miley Naugle, an eighth grade student. This is my first year writing for Livewire. I play sports year round. In the fall, I run cross country, in the winter I play basketball and in the spring, I run distance for track. I also enjoy reading and math. I am in the MATHCOUNTS competition team along with the reading competition team. I love being active and being outdoors. One of my favorite things to do is spend time with my family. I also love hanging out with my friends! I am glad I chose to write for Livewire this year because I have already learned so many new things.

Keep going. Lots of runners struggle when running up hills. Always continue to run up the hills, dont walk. Running up them will only make runners better!

I think that the Roar-A-Palooza was actually really cool. Like if I were a student, I would have loved it!...I think the different activities they had were really good. It was really planned out and there wasnt any last minute craziness trying to find stuff, it was really organised...I think it was great. I think it was a lot of fun. said Ericka Bailor.

Push each other! Try to run with someone who is the same speed or faster. Doing this will prevent runners from slowing down, and it will help them keep a good steady pace. Seventh grade runners Josie Watt and Ashlyn Noce push each other. The girls also race against each other during the cross country season.

Eighth grade teacher Makenzie Negri said, I think the PSSAs are like a necessary evil... they show the areas that our students need to improve on, I just wish they were not tied to high stakes funding as well as so much pressure on the kids. I wish it was just for kids to feel comfortable and show us the data that we can learn from. I just dont like how much pressure they put on you guys and how long they take... there are good and bad parts to both.

All of the eighth grade student council members prepare for the eighth grade only dance. Students are blowing up balloons. In total there were over 600! Students started at the beginning of fifth period, and they had finished blowing up the balloons around the start of seventh period!
