 Attention students:  Here is a puzzle:  First think of the color of the clouds.  Next, think of the color of snow.  Now think of the color of a bright full moon.  Now, quickly, answer: what do cows drink?   If you like puzzles and riddles and the 24 game, come to our Mathcounts meeting Wednesday after school from 2:45 until 3:30.  Please see Mrs. Abbott in C275 for details or email.  (ANSWER: Water – NOT MILK)   🙂

 Attention Students:  The Wellness Committee is hosting its first Food Lab of the school year on Wednesday, October 19th right after school until 4:15.  Food labs teach you how to create fun and healthy meals and snacks.  Our menu will include: Italian Sliders, Buffalo Chicken Meatballs, Jalapeno Roll-Ups, Homemade Mac and Cheese, and Pepperoni Rolls.  If you enjoy cooking or snacking, sign up to attend in room 415 before the 19th.

 

 Attention Students: The Art and Literary Magazine Club will be meeting Wednesday, October 12th at 2:45 in Mr. King’s room, 239. The meeting will last approximately 30 minutes. If you are not a member of the club but like to join, feel free to attend the meeting.

 This Month’s School counseling tip Tuesday topic is Goal-Setting. Do you ever think about the future? What you want to be when you grow up? Where you want to live or what kind of house you’d like to live in? This is all linked to goal-setting. In order for your goal to be realistic, it must be SMART! Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound. For more information, stop by your counselor’s office or see your English teacher.

 Our Girls’ Soccer Team lost to Bedford yesterday with a score of 2-1.  Altoona’s lone goal was scored by Ava Frye, unassisted.  Wish the girls good luck as they travel to Spring Cove today!

 There will be a open gym for boys basketball for boys in 7th and 8th grade that are not participating in a fall sport on Wednesday October 12 from 630-830 and Thursday October 13 from 630-830 in the junior high Fieldhouse

 

 AAJHS Boys Soccer team defeated Bedford 4-0! Goals:    Ian Lieb scored THREE, one assisted by Bradley  Musselman; Brayden Wible also assisted by Bradley Musselman.  WAY TO GO TEAM!

 

 The girls volleyball team defeated Tyrone in the A game on Monday in three sets, with scores of 22-25, 25-15, and 15-11. Selena Lopez-Oakes and Brianna Sanchez led the team in service points. The team split in the B game with scores of 12-25 and 25-13.
