Announcements for Wednesday, May 17!

(5/11-5/18) “Any 6th, 7th, or 8th-grade student interested in learning to play tennis, there will be a brief informational meeting in Room 243 on Thursday, May 18th at 1:15.”

 

(5/15-5/22) There will be a brief meeting for any boys and girls in grades 6, 7 and 8 interested in running cross-country in the fall of 2023 on Monday May 22 during 8th period in the cafeteria.

(5/17) The AAJHS Chess Club is cancelled for Wednesday, May 17th. Please plan to attend next week’s meeting in Cafeteria 1 from 2:45 – 3:45 PM. Check with Mr. Werking if you have any questions.

 

(5/17) Attention girl track athletes. Uniforms are to be turned in after school on Thursday. Your clean uniform is to be in a bag along with a sheet of paper with your name on it. Uniforms collection will take place in the hallway outside of the team locker room.

 

(5/17-5/19) Boy track and field athletes who have not turned in their uniform should turn that uniform in to Mr. Solomon by this Friday in room 258.

 

(5/17-5/19) Come join the fun with the Summer Swim Team! Practices are Monday – Wednesday- Friday after school in the High School Field House.

A requirement is that you must be able to swim one lap of freestyle.

Please know that these are NOT Swim Lessons.

Come join us and compete in meets and earn ribbons!

 

(5/17,5/18) Attention literary magazine club: There will be a meeting on Thursday, May 18th at 2:45 in Mr King’s room. The meeting will last approximately 45 minutes.

 

(5/17,5/18) Attention Students: The last day the library will be open is Thursday. Please be sure all library materials are turned in on or before Thursday. Library books can always be turned in at the drop box outside the library anytime. Any 8th graders with library books still out will be marked lost at the end of the year and become a fine on your Skyward account. If you have any questions, see Mrs. McCaulley.

 

(5/17) This Month’s School counseling tip Tuesday topic is Mindfulness. Mindfulness encourages us to be present by training our brains to be “in the moment” instead of dwelling on the past or worrying about the future. For more information, see your school counselor or English teacher.
