Hey! I'm Danielle Elizabeth Bardelang, a freshman at AAJHS. I hold the titles of Student Council Vice President, National Jr. Honor Society (NJHS) President and am a part of the ninth grade committee. Along side of school activities, I twirl baton competitively and with the school. I am the 2019- 2020 Majorette Captain. The Show Twirlers have become a major part of my life as I have won many national twirling titles individually and with my team. Although twirling takes up most of my time, I enjoy writing and spending time with my family. In 2019, I won second place in a national essay writing contest, and I couldn't have done it without the writing genes coming from my mother. My mom is a published author and works in the school district while my dad works out of town. My oldest brother, A.J., attends Slippery Rock University, while my older brother, Josh, is a junior at the high school. I live by Steve Maraboli's quote, "This is my life... my story... my book. I will no longer let anyone else write it, nor will I apologize for the edits I make."

When Im not doing school work or writing, Im spending time with my family by watching movies or going fishing. Quarantine has given me a chance to spend some time with family that we normally wouldnt have within our busy schedules. My brothers and I have also taken a challenge of going for a run or walk everyday between their work schedules and my virtual baton lessons, ninth grader Danielle Bardelang said.

“If the internet crashed my life would change for the better. I would go outside more and be more active and healthy,” ninth grader Ben Kennedy said.

“If the internet would crash, my life would be greatly impacted. I use the internet to stay updated with news and keep track of my schedules,” ninth grader Emma Feigh said.

“It would definitely be hard. I moved to Altoona when I was younger, and I keep in touch with my friends from my old school on the internet. It would also make school a lot harder because we wouldn’t be able to use our Chromebooks, which we use quite a lot, so it would negatively impact my life,” ninth grader Keira Mayhue said.

Congrats! Freshman football player, number 61, Ian Kennedy walks down the fifty after their second win of the season on Sept. 5. The game ended with a score of 35-12 against the Mifflin County Huskies. “We are a great team together and I can see us all going places with football. We put our sweat and tears into the field, but it’s all worth it in the end. When we pull through with a win, it’s a good day to be a Mountain Lion,” lineman Ian Kennedy said.
