Hey! I’m Mykenzi Doran, or Mac, a freshman here at the AAJHS! I love taking pictures and writing, so being a part of our school’s newspaper is amazing.  I do a lot more than newspaper inside and outside of school. I play the trumpet and clarinet for our school’s marching, concert,and jazz bands. I am also learning how to play the flute. I go to a Sunday and Wednesday youth group with some of my closest friends. I am planning to try out for our school’s team of indoor majorettes and the tennis team next year! I compete in beauty pageants that take me all around Pennsylvania! I absolutely cannot wait to see what this year brings! My classes are definitely the best. Newspaper, German, music and band have to be my favorites! I love learning how to speak German, how to play the guitar,and it is amazing to be able to learn how to take pictures, caption pictures and even more properly! I live by the anonymous quote, “It’s going to be hard, but hard does not mean impossible.” It reminds me to not give up on anything and to keep working for my dreams.

FOR High Five Day encourages a great start to students' days before school starts. Multiple FOR members organize to different locations around the school to greet children around the school as they head to class. FOR members during the high five day all gather around the main entrance and side door entrance of the school. While the rest of FOR members were spread around the rest of the school.

They do stand cheers such as George, Chaser,and Nae Nae. “When we are in the stands I feel that we truly become a family in the fact that we support our jr. high football players,” drum major, Jacob Steinbugl said.

Congrats! Freshman football player, number 61, Ian Kennedy walks down the fifty after their second win of the season on Sept. 5. The game ended with a score of 35-12 against the Mifflin County Huskies. “We are a great team together and I can see us all going places with football. We put our sweat and tears into the field, but it’s all worth it in the end. When we pull through with a win, it’s a good day to be a Mountain Lion,” lineman Ian Kennedy said.
